I felt the call to missions at a young age, but I knew I had to wait for the right timing.
After many years, I knew it was time and God told me to attend ASWE. In the first phase of the program,
it was great to hear from seasoned ministers and missionaries during the classroom instruction in Little Rock.
I was able to gain wisdom and knowledge from their previous experiences as well as ask any questions that I had.
The best part of ASWE was the on-the-field training experience. I had the opportunity to work with current missionary
families in Belize and Costa Rica to discover what real missionary life is like. I feel God is calling me to Central America,
so it was great to experience ministry in that part of the world. I did not just sit on the sidelines and watch what God was
doing in these countries. I was able to jump in there and assist the missionaries with their ministries.
The missionary families welcomed me and made me a part of their team. In both countries, I had the privilege to
minister to all age groups: children in orphanages, teens in youth groups, adults in Bible schools, and much more.
God revealed many things to me about myself and about ministry that caused me to grow closer to Him and rely on Him more each day.
He definitely confirmed my call to missions during these months in Central America. ASWE is a wonderful program that has enabled me
to begin fulfilling my call as a missionary. "
